Aegir's feast
Since Thor found a bowl, big enough for Aegir to make beer in, Aegir has invited all the aesirs and their wives to a big feast in his goldlitted underwaterhall Hlesey, once a year. Once Loki got there, even though he wasn't invited. He kills Aegir's servant Fimafeng, because he is jealous of all the compliments he gets from the aesirs. He also threatens Aegir's cook Eldir. Then he walks right into the hall demanding to have food and a chair. The god of poetry, Bragi, loses his temper and a big quarrel starts. Loki starts to insult everybody in the hall. He starts with Bragi and then one by one; Idun, Gefion, Odin, Frigg, Freya, Njord, Tyr, Frey, Byggvir, Heimdall, Skadi, Sif and Beyla. He starts with telling Bragi that he is a cowardly decoration. He alludes to that skalds usually sing better than they fight. Idun gets accused for having sex with a murder, that could be Hoder or Loki himself. He tells everybody that Odin must be female thou he does the sejd that is a typical womens job. He says that Frigg
several times have cheated on Odin, once with his own brothers. The lovegoddess Freya has according to Loki, had sex with every aesir and all the alves. He embarrasses Tyr because he lost his hand in the mouth of the Fenrirwolf. He teases Frey because he bought his bride Gerd with money. Loki says that Heimdall surely do something in his pants, because he isn't allowed to leave his position by the bridge Bifrost. Sif interrupts Loki by giving him refill of beer in his horn. At the same time she says that he has to admit that she hasn't cheated on Thor. Loki grabs the horn and says that he, himself at least had had sex with her. Then he tells Beyla that she is the most worthless and most dirty among all the aesirs and her husband Byggvir is as useless and easy to loose in the hay as the corn he represents. To stop this somebody mention Thor's name and immediately Loki starts insulting him. Then Thor comes into the room with a raised hammer, and Loki gets quiet. Loki leaves the feast mumbling a curse that Aegir's hall shall burn. Related links: Aegir Bragi Beyla Byggvir Eldir Fimafeng Frey Freya Frigg Gefion Heimdall Idun Loki Njord Odin Sif Skadi Thor Tyr |
