Thor and Geirod

One day when Loki was out flying in Freya's falconcoat he was captured by the giant Geirod. Loki was held as a hostage in a chest for three months. When Geirod finally let him out Geirod told him that Loki would be let loose if he could get Thor there without either his Mjollnir or Mengingjord. Loki managed to talk Thor into this and Thor starts to walk to Geirod's farm, completely unarmed. He passes the friendly giantess Grid's house and she lends him a magic gand, Gridarvol, a new strengthbelt and a pair of irongloves, because she knows that Geirod is not to play with. Loki and Thor walks on and gets to the flood Vimur. When they are in the middle of the flood the water starts to flood really fast and Thor has to grab a tree and swing himself up, with Loki hanging in his belt. Safe on the other side they sees that Geirod's daughter Gjalp was the one who caused the flooding by peeing in the water. Finally at Geirod's farm they walks into his goathouse. Thor sits himself down in chair to await the giant, but the chair starts to fly against the roof really fast and Thor almost gets frighten that he will be smashed against the roof. Thor manages to put his feet on the walls and the chair falls down again. It smashes the giants both daughters Gjalp and Greip that both brakes their backs. The giant calls for Thor to come into his hall to compete. When Thor gets in he sees a burning iron ball flying fast against him. Thor catches the ball with his irongloves and the giant hides behind an ironcolumn. Thor throws the burning ball and it smashes both the giant and the column.
